Windows & sliding walls
Openings wide enough to change how a room is used — sliding walls that run the full width of a wall, and full-height windows kept slim so the building stays the subject.
On the hillside villa the sliding walls run the full width of the openings, on a house that steps down its slope, and each floor opens onto a different level of the garden.
At Oakridge the same principle carries indoors: the gym and the pool hall are glazed floor to ceiling so the daylight reaches the middle of the plan.
