Decorative glass
Glass cut, textured and lit as a finish in its own right — tables carried on glass legs, display units lit through their edges, and shelving that appears to float.
This is the side of the trade that has nothing to do with windows. The same sheet that makes a façade becomes a table top, a display plinth or a shelf, once it is cut, textured and polished on the edge.
Edge-lighting is what makes it work: LEDs fired into the polished edge light the whole pane from within, so the glass glows rather than being lit from outside.
The two workshop shots here are our own bench. Pieces like these we do make ourselves — cut, assembled and wired before they reach a site — and a broken or discontinued one can usually be reproduced to the same figure rather than replaced with something that does not match.
