About Petral

A fabricator,
not a reseller

Plenty of firms in Beirut sell you a window and order it from somebody else. We cut, machine and assemble in our own workshop, and the crew that fits it is on our payroll — so there is nobody to point at when a frame is out by five millimetres.

How we are set up

Petral is an aluminium and glass contractor based in Beirut, working across the city and Mount Lebanon. The work falls into three: private houses, restaurants, and the aluminium and glass package taken on its own for owners, architects and main contractors.

We take the glazing package: windows and doors, curtain walling, frameless and structural glazing, balustrades, shopfronts, skylights and louvres. We are appointed directly by owners and architects, and as a specialist subcontractor to main contractors.

Why the workshop matters

Aluminium is cut, machined and assembled here. That is the difference between a damaged unit costing a day and costing six weeks of import lead time — and it is why we can survey an opening as built and fabricate to that dimension instead of forcing the building to match a catalogue.

Working in Lebanon

Profile and glass prices move with the exchange rate and with freight. We price so it is clear which rates are fixed and which are indexed, we name the long-lead items — specialist glass, imported hardware, minimal-frame systems — at the start, and we hold stock of the sections we use most. Nothing here keeps a programme except planning it in advance.

How we work

The same standards on a café terrace screen as on a full curtain wall.

B-01

Survey before fabrication

Every opening measured on site and checked for square and plumb. Discrepancies against the issued drawings are raised in writing before anything is cut.

B-02

Specified, then approved

System, profile, glass build-up, finish and hardware on shop drawings for signature. Colour and glass samples viewed on site, in the building's own light.

B-03

Sealed and tested

Gaskets, drainage and sealant detailed rather than improvised, and water testing on façade work before the scaffolding comes down.

B-04

Safety & the neighbours

Glass handled with the right lifting gear, edge protection at every open reveal, and openings left weather-tight and secure at the end of each day.
